Writing the script with rough layouts, side by side
Ah, the glamorous life of scriptwriting. You sit down with a cup of tea, ready to create brilliance – only to realize you’re not just writing words, you’re also sketching rough layouts at the same time. Welcome to the two-front battle of storytelling. On one side, the script: characters demanding perfect lines, pacing that refuses to cooperate, and plot twists that arrive too early or too late. On the other side, the layouts: quick doodles that somehow look like abstract art, camera angles that defy physics, and action scenes that take longer to sketch than to read. The real struggle? Making both halves of your brain talk to each other. Your “writer brain” whispers, “This scene will be so intense!” while your “artist brain” mutters, “Cool, but how do we actually draw this explosion without it looking like a potato on fire?” You realize once the words and layouts finally click, you’re not just writing a story, you’re building a world.
