Week-9

Project: Stranded
Summary:
Productive breaks sometimes can take us out of a burnout or creative blocks. I had little time this week to work on my comic, but I still tried to utilise whatever I had left to focus on one thing, revisiting my fundamentals. During projects, I got so lost in the creative process that I found myself forgetting basic rules which are essential to make good comics. As concept artist Matt Rhodes puts it Drawing is not like riding a bicycle, it’s like holding sand in your hands, as it keeps slipping away and you need to keep catching more. This week was used to gather the sand which had slipped away from my palms, and I feel a bit more confident in my abilities.
Next week’s plan:
Continue studying, specifically dedicating this week to composition and page layouts, refocus on storyboarding.
