BUILDING THE STORY PANEL BY PANEL
I’ve started developing the layout and scripting side by side, and it’s honestly changed how smoothly the whole process feels. Instead of finishing the script first and then figuring out the visuals later, I’m letting both grow together. As I write scenes, I’m already imagining how they’ll sit on the page-panel sizes, transitions, quiet beats, and moments that need emphasis. Working this way helps me spot pacing issues early. If a scene feels rushed or too heavy, I can adjust the dialogue, add breathing space with wider panels, or tighten things up before it becomes a bigger problem. It also makes the storytelling more visual, because I’m not just thinking in words, but in rhythm and flow. There’s a lot of back and forth involved-tweaking scripts, revising layouts, and sometimes rethinking entire sequences-but it feels more organic. The story feels alive during the process, not fixed. Even though it takes more focus, this method makes me feel more connected to the narrative and confident about where the project is heading. I’ll probably continue it through the week or a two since it’s a lot of work and time required. As always, see ya next time! Thank you!
