LAYOUTS AND REVISITING CHARACTERS
By exploring the layout in multiple poses and angles, I ensure the design remains consistent and readable throughout the story. Character design is a layered process. Layout defines identity, clothing adds history, and together they tell a story without words. This approach helps me create characters that are not only visually striking but also deeply connected to the narrative they belong to. Also, accessories and small design elements act as visual hints, suggesting status, habits, or hidden aspects of the character’s story. In the end, character layouts and clothing styles work together as a visual language. One thing I realised is that I really need to practise more on paper. I have been doing digital work mostly for a while now. This week I’ll be focusing on panel layouts and re-editing. Also, there are some preparations needed to be done for upcoming events, so it’s also necessary to spare time on promotional things.
