syndicates, corrupt politicians, and warlords who built their power on exploitation.  Mega-corporations mine the planet for rare elements while leaving the population to  scrape by in dusty settlements, neon-lit saloons, and ramshackle shanty towns. Law  enforcement is often just another gang with badges, and justice is for sale to the highest bidder. John Carter makes his living taking dangerous jobs no one else will, tracking fugitives, collecting debts, and settling scores. He has no illusions about the world he lives in: it’s violent, unfair, and always ready to chew up those too weak or too soft  hearted to fight back. One day, a very powerful man who rules this lawless world forces John to find a man named ‘Boreas Reign’. This man wants to send a confidential envelope to Boreas with no location, no clues, no photo, nothing. John can’t Refuse the Contract if he tries, he will be killed. Not that he really cared. The pay was just too good to refuse. John searches everywhere but finds nothing. He turns every stone he comes across  but nothing.
